We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable desktop support intern to join our growing team. In this position, you will collaborate with our entire organization and our outside technology provider. This will be a hands-on opportunity to apply the information you learn from your college technology classes to a real-world business setting. As a small company, you will have significant influence on key technology buying and project-oriented decisions affecting our business.

Desktop Support Job Purpose

Works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, live chat or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms. Liaison with outside technology provider.

Qualifications
Excellent Customer Service in Face-to-Face, Telephone or Electronic Interaction with Clients, Good Language and Communications Skills, Problem-Solving, Relevant Certifications such as Microsoft/CompTIA and Cisco are great have but not required, Good Understanding of Computer Support and Troubleshooting, Knowledge of Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Windows Server products
Ability to Work in a Team, Ability to Prioritize Projects
Responsibilities
• Works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests
• Responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, live chat or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms
• Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) per the direction from the outside technology provider
• When incidents arise, first contacts outside technology provider and/or the Office Manager or CFO to gain guidance
• Clearly articulates and communicates the issue
• Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance under the technical guidance from the outside technology provider
• Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
• Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to management for consideration and implementation
• Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and timely
• Create, maintain, and distribute reports of progress to management
• Maintain our Microsoft 365 account
